History of Italy in 40 wineries

Cascina Piano combined with St. Charles Borromeo in: "STORIA D'ITALIA IN 40 CANTINE POETI, SANTI E NAVIGATORI NEL PAESE DEL VINO" SERGIO REDAELLI and GUIDO MONTALDO "

"So far, the dark sides of the fascinating history of wine were available almost exclusively to the French", writes the journalist Jancis Robinson MW in the presentation of the book "The Wine. History. Traditions. Culture" written by Hugh Johnson. That the knowledge and appreciation of the history of the wine is exclusive of the french men is a myth to dispel. We are a country envied around the world for archaeological and architectural beauty and a glorious history that we have always offered generously. For some reason, however, we find it hard to communicate and to use it as a marketing tool. This book was written to highlight the historical aspects, mostly strangers, who can become a tool for communication in a time of poor market of ideas and culture of Italian wine. It 'a trip in forty wineries connected to the memory of kings, popes, generals, writers, artists, preachers and even bandits who have made the history of Italy. The formula is a mix economic historian with a focus of the character mentioned, the description of the company and of the wines with the most significant journalistic and final card, photos and, when possible, a bit of gossip, they speak for example of the bedroom Cavour in the castle cellar Grinzane, sisters "vinattiere" descended by his mother from the Mona Lisa, the temple of Barolo that was the love nest of Vittorio Emanuele II and the Bella Rosin, cellars papal that inspired the sonnets Gioachino Belli, Sicilian vineyards of Gattopardo, the estates of the heirs of Dante and Leopardi, the rose of the Countess of Castiglione, etc. etc..
